On the morning of October 28, the 14th Jiujiu Double Ninth Festival for Seniors kicked off with great pomp at the Cultural Square in Zhao Guanying Village, Shangjiuwu Town, Baofeng County.

The event venue was alive with colorful flags waving and the energetic rhythm of drums, creating an exuberant and enthusiastic atmosphere. The performances were diverse and captivating, deeply loved by the audience—ranging from the locally cherished "Fan Dance," specially choreographed and performed by villagers from Zhao Guanying Village, to a heartwarming solo rendition of "A Beautiful Blessing" by renowned artist Liu Aiyun, a nationally recognized first-class performer. There was also a mesmerizing magic act titled "Magic Floating Table," showcasing our county's rich heritage as the "Home of Chinese Magic." During the event, condolence money was distributed to villagers aged 86 and above, warmly conveying deep respect for the elderly. Spectators—from near and far—gathered together in large numbers, celebrating the Double Ninth Festival with great joy and camaraderie.

 

 

Since 2012, Zhao Junyi, Chairman of Wuxing New Materials, has responded to the county Party committee and government's call for prominent local figures to give back to their hometown. With the full support of the County Charity Federation, the County Folk Artists Association, the Shangjiuwu Town Party Committee and Government, and other social organizations, he has annually donated hundreds of thousands of yuan to organize the Chongyang Festival Cultural Event for Elderly Residents in Zhaoguanying Village, Shangjiuwu Town. Through these concrete actions, he actively promotes the tradition of respecting the elderly and strengthens bonds of hometown affection and public sentiment.
